According to reports, UFC has scheduled a thrilling matchup between former UFC bantamweight king Petr Yan and ex-flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo. Sports journalist Leo Guimaraes recently broke the news on social media that the two former titleholders will lock horns at the UFC event scheduled for Nov. 23.
The event will be held at the Galaxy Arena in Macau, China. Guimaraes reports that it is currently unclear whether the exciting bantamweight showdown will consist of three or five rounds.
Yan was last seen in action this past March. He locked horns with Song Yadong in a three-round clash on the main card of UFC 299. The bout was a competitive affair that ended with a unanimous decision victory for 'No Mercy'.

Figueiredo, on the other hand, competed last month. He went up against Marlon Vera at UFC Abu Dhabi. The Brazilian proved himself to be the better fighter that night and scored a unanimous decision victory.
What could a victory at UFC Macau mean for either Petr Yan or Deiveson Figueiredo?
Petr Yan is currently going through a rough patch in the UFC. Although 'No Mercy' was victorious in his last UFC outing against Song Yadong, he lost three fights in a row prior to that encounter.
With that, a victory at UFC Macau could possibly help Yan build momentum in order to attain another title shot.
Figueiredo, on the other hand, has started his bantamweight journey on a highly impressive note. In his first three fights as a 135-pounder, the Brazilian has defeated Rob Font, Marlon Vera and former champion Cody Garbrandt.
Now, a possible win over another champion like Yan at UFC Macau could strengthen Figueiredo's case for a title shot in his next outing.
