PFL Champions Series Dubai: Nathan Kelly vs. Akhmed Magomedov: Video highlights 

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) delivered a high-stakes featherweight clash at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on Jan 25, as part of its Champions Series – Road to Dubai card. Touted as Dagestan vs. Ireland 2, the event featured Akhmed Magomedov (11-1) and Nathan Kelly (11-3) in a battle that lived up to its hype.

Magomedov, entering as a -260 favorite, aimed to bounce back after his first career loss to Henry Corrales in February 2023. Meanwhile, Kelly, a product of Ireland's SBG gym, sought to extend his 10-fight winning streak.

The fight began with both fighters testing their range through feints and leg kicks. Kelly landed a strong calf kick, forcing Magomedov to switch stances. Magomedov attempted a takedown, but Kelly defended well, delivering a sharp elbow that visibly hurt Magomedov and caused a cut above his eye.

Magomedov wasted no time, taking Kelly down early and controlling him against the cage. Gradually, he transitioned to full mount, applying relentless pressure. The audience grew restless as Magomedov patiently awaited an opening, methodically increasing his ground strikes.
