The MMA community always celebrates Halloween in style, and this year was no different. Right from combat sports megastar Conor McGregor to MMA legend Georges St-Pierre and multi-sport athlete Paige VanZant, the festive spirit appeared to be truly strong.
Halloween is believed to have originated from the ancient festival 'Samhain', celebrated by the Celts (Celtic people) who primarily lived in the region that constitutes modern-day Ireland around 2,000 years ago.
Celebrators would sport costumes, partake in rituals, and light bonfires to ward off evil entities and honor respectable ones. It marked the harvest season's end and the Celtic New Year's commencement, when the spirits of the deceased and the living would connect.
