It has been more than three years since the former two-division champion was last seen in action. In his last fight, he faced former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier in their trilogy bout at UFC 264, where McGregor broke his leg. Since then, he has been out of the Octagon.

However, the Irish fighter was scheduled to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June this year. Unfortunately, just a few weeks before the event, he injured his toe and had to pull out of their much-anticipated bout.

Chandler, who had been eagerly waiting for this fight, eventually moved on from McGregor and faced Charles Oliveira at UFC 308. Despite his loss, Chandler called out McGregor during his Octagon interview, keeping the possibility of their matchup alive.

Dana White declines to comment on Conor McGregor's sexual assault case, hints at potential UFC return

Many UFC fighters, including Islam Makhachev, Demetrious Johnson, and Khabib Nurmagomedov, quickly shared their thoughts and criticized Conor McGregor after he was found liable for sexual assault. Meanwhile, UFC CEO Dana White chose to remain silent on the matter.

In the post-fight press conference of UFC 310, White was asked to share his thoughts on McGregor's case. He stated that he had no comment on the matter. Later, when questioned about McGregor's potential return to the Octagon, White said:

"If I had a comment [about McGregor's ongoing case] I would have put it out already. He hasn't been fighting here in how long? If he does fight, it will be sometime next year."
