Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson becomes the most-streamed US live sporting event ever
Speaking of winning, Jake Paul's fight against boxing legend Mike Tyson last month broke a new record in sports, becoming the most-streamed live US sporting event of all time. The entire fight card, which was streamed live by Netflix, got a total of 108 million views. Paul won a lop-sided unanimous decision after eight rounds.
Apart from the high-profile main event, the co-main event battle between Amanda Serrano also garnered significant attention. The bout, a rematch of their Fight of the Year clash back in 2022, saw Taylor win a controversial unanimous decision. This didn't stop the bout from notching 74 million viewers, however - ranking second place to the Paul-Tyson fight.
Most Valuable Promotions posted the top five most streamed US live sports events on X, with the caption:
"Netlfix, MVP & the NFL hold the record for the top 5 most streamed US Sporting events ever‼️They not like us 🔥MVPs Paul Vs Tyson was only distributed on Netflix. The NFL viewer figures include the audience on Netflix, mobile viewership on NFL+ and those who tuned in on broadcast television CBS stations in Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Baltimore and Houston."
At this rate, just four years and 12 pro fights into his career, Paul might break more records and reach new heights in the sport in the next few years. His influence, quick rise to stardom, and marketability alone are something the sport has never seen before.
