Laura Sanko shared behind-the-scenes photos with fighters following their wins at UFC 311. The pay-per-view was a great event for the promotion to start off the new year with impressive performances from Jiri Prochazka, Merab Dvalishvili and Islam Makhachev. It was also announced that Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen would be the two coaches for the new season of The Ultimate Fighter.

The main event of the UFC 311 card was left in jeopardy when Arman Tsarukyan pulled out from the fight due to a back injury. Moicano stepped in for Tsarukyan but was finished in the first round by Makhachev who broke the record for the most lightweight title defenses.

Sanko took to Instagram to post photos with Sonnen, Dvalishvili, Prochazka and Makhachev. She captioned her post as:

"UFC 311 in the books!! Biggest takeaway? Who does Islam fight next?"

Islam Makhachev says Umar Nurmagomedov "made some mistakes" in his loss against Merab Dvalishvili

UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev revealed that he watched the full contest between teammate Umar Nurmagomedov and Merab Dvalishvili while he was warming up for his fight. Despite being disappointed with the result, Makhachev expects the 29-year-old to make a comeback and become UFC champion one day.

Speaking to the media after his win against Renato Moicano, Makhachev said:

"Honestly, it was hard. I tried to warm up but I still watched the whole fight. Of course it made me a little bit sad, but Umar [was] looking good. Umar is still young, still hungry. He has time. Because he's still young, he made some mistakes in this fight."

He added:

"Merab did his job very well and they had a close fight. Umar did not take damage. It's okay, he broke his arm also. 100% I think he will come back, because he's young, still hungry and he's gonna be UFC champion one day."
