Joe Rogan recently discussed the history of American internet censorship and how it was linked to the Ukraine coup in 2014 and Donald Trump's election victory in 2016. During an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast (JRE #2237), Mike Benz told Rogan a detailed story of how the Ukraine coup led to NATO adding "hybrid warfare" to its charter.

Benz then explained how this led to the inter-governmental military alliance focusing on controlling social media posts by authorizing the military, diplomatic sphere, and intelligence world to take control of social media platforms. Linking that to Trump, he said:

"It started in 2014 with the Ukraine coup and the counter-coup. In 2014, we had about 25 years of successful free-speech diplomacy, and then we successfully overthrew the government of Ukraine... But then the eastern side of Ukraine completely broke away, and they didn't respect this new U.S.-installed government. Crimea voted in a referendum to join the Russian Federation, which set in motion events that would end the concept of free speech diplomacy... NATO formally declared that it was no longer just about tanks, but it was about controlling tweets, and then Brexit happened in June 2016."

Benz continued:

"The very next month, NATO added hybrid warfare to its formal charter, basically authorizing the military, diplomatic sphere, and intelligence world to take control of social media. Then, five months later, Trump won the election while being called a Russian asset, so all that infrastructure was redirected home to the U.S."

Popular streamer PewDiePie slams "dumb" Joe Rogan during rant about podcasts

Swedish YouTuber and streamer PewDiePie recently went off on Joe Rogan during a recent livestream. With over 110 million subscribers, PewDiePie is notably among the most influential YouTubers in the world and his channel regularly ranks as one of the most viewed on the platform.

In a recent video, PewDiePie reviewed Rogan's podcast and shared his analysis of contemporary podcasts in general. The Swede wasn't impressed with the UFC commentator's show and content, saying:

"I had this Epiphany. I’m like, ‘Oh, he’s the biggest podcast I’ve never actually listened to him.’ So, I listened to an episode. I’m like, ‘Oh, he’s actually respectfully very dumb,' but it's clearly working for him, but it also shows how dumb he is. I saw some meme where it kind of just showed him as a caveman, and then he brings in a scientist and be like, ‘you explain fire now, explain how he works,’ and that’s kind of it summarized [the JRE podcast].” [H/t: Dexerto]
