A popular Arsenal FC (Football Club) fan has responded to claims of Conor McGregor having the same accent as him. Born and raised in Ireland, McGregor is all set to make his feature film debut in Hollywood.

McGregor will play a pivotal role in the upcoming remake of the 1989 cult classic Hollywood movie 'Road House.' The movie, which will likely be released later this year, has its story based in the US state of Florida. Since its filming commenced in August 2022, 'The Notorious' has worked closely with American Hollywood superstar Jake Gyllenhaal, who'll be portraying the movie's protagonist.

Many believe that 'The Notorious' could potentially have to sport an American accent or perhaps use a bit of what's generally perceived to be an American accent.

The American accent is known to be diverse, generally changing from one region to another. On that note, during a recent interview with Barstool Sports' Robbie Fox for the My Mom's Basement podcast, McGregor jestingly showcased his American accent.

Barstool Sports' Jack McGuire subsequently tweeted a video from McGregor's interview. McGuire attached a statement alongside the video, suggesting that the Irishman's American accent is similar to that of Arsenal FC fan Troopz (real name: Aumar Hamilton):

"McGregor has the same American accent as @TroopzAFC & @ExpressionsOOZ 😂😂😂 Would love to hear him say chicken fingerrrrrs"

Troopz, who works for the US-based Barstool Sports company, was raised in the UK and is of Jamaican, Pakistani and Moroccan descent. He's well-known among football fans for being an ardent Arsenal FC supporter and for his unique accent as well. Troopz replied to McGuire's tweet and indicated that Europeans like himself and Conor McGregor think the same of the American accent. Troopz tweeted:

"Across the pond we all think the same 🤣"

Conor McGregor believes he's too "slick" for his comeback opponent Michael Chandler

Conor McGregor hasn't fought since suffering a gruesome leg injury in his lightweight bout against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. That said, the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion has coached the TUF 31 season against Michael Chandler and is expected to fight the latter later this year. The McGregor-Chandler matchup is rumored to be taking place at welterweight.

However, neither the date nor weight for the showdown have been officially announced yet. In his aforementioned interview with Robbie Fox, Conor McGregor addressed his much-awaited comeback fight against Michael Chandler.

Conor McGregor promised to show the difference in levels between the UFC and Michael Chandler's former promotion Bellator MMA by outclassing the three-time Bellator lightweight champion. Claiming that he's faced fighters like 'Iron' several times over the years, McGregor stated:

"For Chandler, I'm just too slick for him. I'm too skilled for him and he's not fought someone like me. I've fought someone like him though. It's the mixed martial arts style. The short wrestler, it's just kind of MMA, isn't it?"
