Last Saturday's UFC 308 witnessed a shocking submission stoppage, with Khamzat Chimaev tapping Robert Whittaker in the co-headlining match. The headliner also featured a decisive finish, as Ilia Topuria knocked Max Holloway out. Various changes marked this week's rankings update.

Per the UFC's official website, the men's flyweight and bantamweight rankings remain unchanged in the post-UFC 308 rankings update.

The men's featherweight division saw Lerone Murphy move up a spot to No.11, while Giga Chikadze fell a spot to No.12. Murphy is fresh off a unanimous decision win over Dan Ige at UFC 308. Ige retained his No.14 rank despite the defeat.

Additionally, the men's lightweight rankings saw Renato Moicano rise to No.10, tied with Rafael Fiziev. The welterweight division was bereft of change, but the middleweight division was shaken up. Chimaev's jaw-dropping stoppage of Whittaker helped catapult him 10 spots. 'Borz' is now ranked No.3 at middleweight.

The following middleweights each fell one spot and are currently ranked as follows: Robert Whittaker (4), Nassourdine Imavov (5), Caio Borralho (6), Marvin Vettori (7), Jared Cannonier (8), Brendan Allen (9), Roman Dolidze (10), Paulo Costa (11), Jack Hermansson (12), Anthony Hernandez (13), and Michel Pereira (15).

Unbeaten middleweight Shara Magomedov bested Armen Petrosyan via second-round KO at UFC 308, which helped him enter the UFC top 15 at 185 pounds and bag the No.14 spot. As reported by John Morgan, Magomedov's entry into the top 15 has led to the removal of Chris Curtis from the same.

UFC 308 rankings update: Magomed Ankalaev solidifies position, Charles Oliveira out of pound-for-pound ranks

Magomed Ankalaev bested Aleksandar Rakic via unanimous decision at UFC 308. Many deemed it the last fight before Ankalaev finally would receive his long-awaited title shot against UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. Ankalaev held the No.1 spot in the division before the event but was tied with former champion Jiri Prochazka.

Well, after his victory at UFC 308, Ankalaev is now the lone owner of the No.1 spot at light heavyweight, as Prochazka has dropped to No.2. Elsewhere in the division, Khalil Rountree Jr. rose a place and is now tied with Nikita Krylov at No.6. Dominick Reyes similarly rose one position and is tied with Anthony Smith at the No.12 position.

Moreover, the men's heavyweight division and the women's strawweight, flyweight, and bantamweight divisions remain unchanged. The women's pound-for-pound rankings also stayed the same, with UFC women's flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko reigning as the No.1 women's pound-for-pound fighter.

On the other hand, the men's pound-for-pound rankings had a few major changes after UFC 308. UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria defeated former divisional kingpin Max Holloway via third-round KO, becoming the first fighter to knock 'Blessed' out in MMA.

Topuria retained his No.4 position in the men's pound-for-pound rankings. UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja moved up a spot to No.11, whereas BMF champion Max Holloway dropped a spot to No.12.

Former two-time UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya re-entered the list and stands at No.15. Ex-UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira, who returns soon, exited the pound-for-pound ranks. Furthermore, UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev remains the No.1 men's pound-for-pound fighter.
