UFC Vegas 100, the milestone 100th Fight Night event at the UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas, delivered action-packed bouts, with the preliminary card setting the tone for the event with five finishes. The energy carried over to the main card, where several fighters made their marks with standout performances.

Among the night's biggest winners, Carlos Prates made a significant impact by breaking into the welterweight rankings at No. 13. He achieved this impressive feat in under 15 months since earning his UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. His victory forced longtime contender Neil Magny to exit the rankings and pave the way for Prates as a formidable new presence at 170 pounds.

Gillian Robertson, who also impressed with her performance on the main card, moved up two spots to No. 12 in the strawweight rankings following a unanimous decision win over Luana Pinheiro.

The two ranked fighters went the distance in a hard-fought three-round bout, where Robertson controlled key moments on the canvas, especially in the final round to secure her third consecutive victory. Pinheiro, meanwhile, slipped one spot to No. 14 after the loss.

Carlos Prates sets sight on Jack Della Maddalena after victory over Neil Magny at UFC Vegas 100

Carlos Prates wants to build on the momentum of his rapid rise in the UFC by taking on a top-ranked opponent in early 2025. Prates, who defeated Neil Magny via KO in the first round at UFC Vegas 100, is targeting a fight against Jack Della Maddalena, a rising contender expected to compete at UFC 312 in Sydney.

However, Prates acknowledged that the matchup with Maddalena, who's ranked No. 4 in the division, may be a stretch given his current ranking. That being said, he also named Geoff Neal as a potential next opponent. Speaking at the UFC Vegas 100 post-fight press conference, he said:

“To be honest, I think the best option would be against Jack Della Maddalena, but you have the ranks, and he’s No. 4, and probably next Tuesday, I’m going to be 15, so I don’t know if he’ll accept the fight. Also, if UFC is going to do that fight if they find it interesting. But if it’s too far and Jack Della Madalena doesn’t agree, I would be happy to fight Geoff Neal, that would be cool.”
