Prajanchai’s strawweight Muay Thai title defense vs. Ellis Badr Barboza set to headline ONE Fight Night 28

The main event of ONE Fight Night 28 is now set in stone, featuring a strawweight Muay Thai world title defense from two-sport kingpin Prajanchai PK Saenchai.

The Thai superstar will put one of his two world titles on the line when he takes on dangerous challenger Ellis Badr Barboza on Feb. 7, live in US primetime, inside 'The Mecca of Muay Thai' Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

With a remarkable 343 career wins to his name, Prajanchai has long been considered one of the pound-for-pound best pure strikers on the planet.

After going 6-1 in ONE Championship's global stage, the 30-year-old has become a household name after noticing massive victories against world-class opposition.

Prajanchai's rise to the top of the 125-pound Muay Thai and kickboxing ranks began when he notched sweet redemption against his former tormentor Joseph Lasiri.

The PK Saenchai representative took out 'The Hurricane' in one round back in 2023, which set him up for a clash against former strawweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Di Bella at ONE Friday Fights 68.

After five grueling rounds, Prajanchai outclassed the Italian-Canadian star and handed him his first career loss to claim a second belt.

However, Prajanchai's first strawweight Muay Thai world title defense won't be a walk in the park since he'll face a British challenger with dynamite in his fists.

Barboza is coming off an incredible performance against streaking Thai Aliff Sor Dechapan at ONE Fight Night 23.

Like his fellow English stars, Jonathan Haggerty and Liam Harrison, 'El Jefe' boasts ridiculous finishing capabilities and will look to show the world with an upset win over the iconic Prajanchai.

Confirmed fights for ONE Fight Night 28

ONE Fight Night 28: Prajanchai vs. Barboza will air free of charge for existing Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.

Apart from the confirmed striking war in the main event, two MMA bouts have also been announced for this Feb. 7 spectacle.

Filipino firecracker Lito Adiwang will look to steal Keito Yamakita's momentum and break into the top five of the strawweight MMA rankings.

'Thunder Kid's' compatriot, Jeremy Pacatiw, is also set to return against undefeated Russian Ibragim Dauev.
