Mikey Musumeci is looking forward to his highly anticipated super title fight against fellow American grappling ace Kade Ruotolo in the United States next month. It is a showdown that he touts as what could be the most exciting jiu-jitsu match in history.
The two top jiu-jitsu fighters will go up against one another at ONE 168 in Denver, Colorado, on Sept. 6. Musumeci, the ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion, will vie for the lightweight gold in possession of Ruotolo and become a two-division champion in the co-headlining match of the event happening at the Ball Arena.
In an interview with ONE Championship, 'Darth Rigatoni' could not help but express his thrill over one of his biggest fights, if not the biggest, to date.
Musumeci shared:

"And, I think that this match, and Chatri [Sityodtong] said it too, is gonna be the most watched match in jiu-jitsu history and probably the most exciting match in jiu-jitsu history because of that thing."
Both Musumeci and Ruotolo are undefeated in seven matches, respectively, in ONE Championship and out to maintain it in their super-fight at ONE 168, apart from the world title implication involved.
ONE 168: Denver will air live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription. Tickets for the event are available for purchase on Ticketmaster.
Mikey Musumeci expects a tough challenge against Kade Ruotolo at ONE 168
Mikey Musumeci may be looking forward to his super-fight against Kade Ruotolo at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6 but he is fully aware that it is not going to be an easy task. He cited the need for him to go up three weight classes higher for the fight as among the things he has to deal with.
During an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, which was uploaded on YouTube in June, 28-year-old Musumeci shed his thoughts on his upcoming marquee match, including the challenges he has to face to realize his goal of becoming a two-division world champion.
'Darth Rigatoni' said:
"September 6. ONE 168 in Colorado. I'm going up to face Kade Ruotolo for the lightweight belt. Three weight classes up. I have the flyweight belt. He has the lightweight belt. If I win this match, I have two different belts in two different classes. So it's a fu**ing challenge."
But despite the imposing challenge, Musumeci is determined to stay the course and come up with a win at ONE 168: Denver.
