BJJ standout Dante Leon said he gravitated to doing jiu-jitsu because it tests one both mentally and physically. It something he truly basks in and has led him to a lot of success in the sport.
The two-time IBJJF no-gi world champion spoke about it in an interview with ONE Championship, in line with his promotional debut on Dec. 6 at ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs. Rasulov in Thailand.
"I enjoyed the kind of problem-solving side of things and the physicality of it. It was something that I wouldn't get in trouble for necessarily. I could be rough, but not, like, punching people and hurting people necessarily. It was a way to check off a lot of boxes that a lot of other sports didn't. And if you see the sport that I stuck with before, that is like hockey, we could have full contact since we were, like, 9 years old."
