After years of teasing the potential move, Dana White confirmed on Sept. 19 that he will be launching a boxing promotion soon. The UFC CEO furthered excitement by teasing "big announcements" at the press conference for the upcoming UFC Fight Pass card headlined by 'King' Callum Walsh on Sept. 20.
White told the media that he is "in" on working to launch a full boxing promotion but did not provide further details. The UFC currently promotes occasional boxing events on UFC Fight Pass with Walsh being the most notable fighter.
As expected, White's announcement took social media by storm even if it felt like an inevitability. Some fans assumed that the 55-year-old entrepreneur would work with others, including Turki Alalshikh.

Dana White and the UFC's current boxing events
While Dana White officially announced that he is "in" on launching a boxing promotion, he has not been completely void of the sport. UFC Fight Pass has been putting on sporadic events in recent years, typically headlined by rising Irish star Callum Walsh.
So far, the current boxing events broadcasted on UFC Fight Pass have not been associated with a promotion other than the streaming service. It is unclear if White's promotion will be an expansion of this current product or a complete rebranding.
White also did not clarify where his fights will be available but is currently assumed to be on UFC Fight Pass. Should the new promotion be added to the platform, it would join Karate Combat and the UFC Fight Pass Invitational grappling events as the most recent expansions into different markets.
