When Derek Chisora slapped boxing champion during face-off, engaged in a post-fight brawl
Derek Chisora has been one of the outspoken heavyweight boxers and has engaged in trash-talk with many of his opponents. In February 2012, Chisora challenged WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko for the title. During the weigh-in face-off, the British boxer slapped Klitschko in a controversial move that could have potentially sparked a brawl.
Watch the video below:
In the fight, Klitschko outboxed Chisora for all twelve rounds and walked away with a unanimous decision win. However, the post-fight press conference led to another controversial incident.
Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, who had lost the title to Wladimir Klitschko in 2011, started a verbal altercation with Klitschko at the press conference. However, he soon got entangled in a war of words with Chisora, who left the stage to confront Haye. A fight broke out between the two and the situation soon escalated into a brawl involving many others.
