In what was an accurate prediction by Ariel Helwani and many others, Dillon Danis recently pulled out of his boxing match with KSI. The fight was supposed to take place in the main event of MF & DAZN: X Series 004 - a crossover boxing event billed as 'Uncaged'.
Danis was supposed to meet KSI on January 14. The booking came after the pair had a scuffle at a Misfits Boxing press conference. Danis, however, has pulled out of the bout, reportedly due to lack of preparation, including the absence of a boxing coach and a struggle to make the weight.
Reacting to the news of Danis pulling out of the bout, Michael Bisping gave his thoughts on why it was a bad move on the part of 'El Jefe'. In an episode of his YouTube show, 'The Count' referred to Dillon Danis as a "wet fart" who's blown his career with the move:
"Well, that's his fault. He's a grappler. If you're going to fight in mixed martial arts, if you're going to fight in boxing; you need a boxing coach or a striking coach, in general. So, if he hasn't got that, I mean, what the hell is he doing?"

Bisping alluded to a 'certain code' that exists in combat sports like MMA, boxing and Muay Thai:
"Whatever it is, there's an agreement with another man or another woman. You agree [that] you're going to face one another. People start training, the public buys tickets, promoters spend a fortune on promoting these things - booking arenas and the rest of it. And then, just on a whim, you just decide, 'Nah, I'm not going to go through with it.' I mean, that's just ridiculous. So, I think, Dillon, this is going to bite you in the ass and you're going to have problems booking a fight ever again."

The Dillon Danis dilemma
Dillon Danis is a supremely talented grappler, having acquired his black belt in jiu-jitsu under the great Marcelo Garcia. 'El Jefe' rose to stardom after being associated with 'The Notorious' Conor McGregor. He helped the Irishman with his ground game for his rematch with Nate Diaz and subsequent bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Conor McGregor's personality seemingly rubbed off on Danis, with 'El Jefe' developing a similar brash persona. Though he hasn't been active in either jiu-jitsu or MMA lately, he hasn't missed an opportunity at taking shots at people on Twitter.
Dillon Danis has won multiple IBJJF Pan-American and world championship titles in jiu-jitsu. A person of his pedigree could perhaps have made massive strides either in grappling or MMA.
But he has only fought twice in MMA, winning both his Bellator bouts. 'El Jefe' hasn't fought since 2019.
