Tony Ferguson's longtime feud with Khabib Nurmagomedov continues to evolve. Now, the Dagestani star's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, has chimed in, dismissing Ferguson and mockingly suggesting that he take on Khabib's 35-year old cousin and former UFC welterweight, Abubakar Nurmagomedov.

The exchange took place on X/Twitter, where Ferguson recently used Khabib's criticism of the Irish MMA scene to take aim at the undefeated lightweight legend. In response, Abdelaziz poked fun at Ferguson by suggesting that he sign with the GFL, an up-and-coming promotion comprised largely of older and retired fighters.

Abdelaziz erroneously referred to Abubakar as Khabib's brother, but the two, as previously mentioned, are actually cousins. The GFL is expected to launch sometime in April and will feature several key differences from the likes of the UFC and even the PFL. Among these differences are the GFL's bonuses.

Fighters will reportedly receive health insurance, a retirement fund, and a 50/50 split of event-based revenue. This has drawn the attention of countless over-the-hill legends including former UFC champions in Tyron Woodley, Luke Rockhold, Anthony Pettis, Junior dos Santos, Frank Mir, and others.

Ferguson, a former UFC interim lightweight champion, may very well find himself in a different promotion this year. UFC CEO Dana White has encouraged him to retire after a serious rough patch. And with his 41st birthday just a month away, he will not get any better than he already is.

Unfortunately, 'El Cucuy' has shown an unwillingness to hang up the gloves, and will likely keep fighting wherever he can until he exhausts all opportunities.

Tony Ferguson is on the worst losing streak in UFC history

Part of the reason behind Ali Abdelaziz's mockery of Tony Ferguson is due to the American's poor record over the last five years. In short, Ferguson is on an 8-fight losing streak, having failed to win a single fight since 2020. Moreover, these defeats saw Ferguson suffer the first knockout loss of his career.

Now, he is unranked and tied with the legendary B.J. Penn for the longest losing streak in UFC history. The two men were once feared lightweights who tore through the division. But once they started losing, they were unable to turn their luck around.
