Jarred Brooks knows that if he can't stop his next opponent in his tracks, it could be a long night on August 2.

'The Monkey God' has been dominant since arriving in ONE Championship's strawweight division.

Having already beaten many of the top contenders at this weight class, the one blemish on his record was his disqualification loss at ONE 166 where he was stripped of the strawweight gold.

Now, following the injury to Joshua Pacio, he will compete for the interim title in the main event of ONE Fight Night 24 against Gustavo Balart.

The Cuban powerhouse is known for his wrestling background and heavy hands which make him a tough stylistic match-up for anyone in the rankings.

Brooks spoke recently in an interview with Sportskeeda MMA about the pressure and work rate that Balart brings to the table.

Only one opponent in ONE Championship, Robin Catalan in 2019, has been able to finish Balart and Brooks believes that he will need to do the same if he's going to stop his opponent from constantly coming at him:

"I mean Catalan might speak differently or other fighters might speak differently, those who have knocked him out, but that's what you gotta do to him. You've either got to put him out or he's going to come at you the whole time with that Balart style."

Jarred Brooks and Gustavo Balart have no quit in them

Both Jarred Brooks and Gustavo Balart are known for wearing opponents down and breaking them over the duration of a fight.

The American has also already shown his ability to fight over five rounds when he defeated Joshua Pacio to become the champion at ONE 164.

This clash of styles should make for a very interesting main event inside Lumpinee Stadium as Brooks looks to come up with a solution to the Cuban bruiser's unwavering pace.

ONE Fight Night 24 will air live in US Primetime, free of charge for Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
