"Put him to sleep" - Kwon Won Il eager to return the favor by knocking out Fabricio Andrade in under a round

South Korean knockout artist Kwon Won Il plans to make the most out of his world title showdown with ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade at ONE 170 on Friday, Jan. 24, by adding him to his long list of victims.

The P-Boy MMA product eagerly told ONE Championship in an interview:

"I will finish him in the first round. I'll either get a knockout, a submission, or put him to sleep."

Kwon's desire to end Andrade's reign atop the division with a first-round finish is no surprise to fans who know their history.

In the co-headliner of ONE 158 in June 2022, the third-ranked 145-pound MMA competitor got caught with a vicious body kick from 'Wonder Boy' barely a minute into their fight — the only knockout defeat on his 13-fight ONE resume.

As the hard-hitting Brazilian ascended to the throne in February 2023, Kwon worked his way back into title contention by posting three TKO wins in as many fights between November 2022 and this past January.

Kwon now hopes to exact his revenge in a similar fashion and win his first ONE world championship inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Kwon Won Il expects nothing less than a one-sided beatdown of Fabricio Andrade at ONE 170 after having waited patiently for his shot at vengeance.

Kwon told the Anything Goes podcast:

"This time, I'll show everyone that I'm gonna be dominating him in every aspect of MMA. In our first fight, I can say that I made a mistake. And mentally, I wasn't there, you know. I will dominate him in every aspect of MMA. Nothing will work against me and I will show domination."
