It seems the heat during the weigh-in was motivated by an earlier incident that happened at the official fighter hotel. In a video leaked on X, it was captured that Team Mokaev and Team Kape allegedly got into a physical altercation.

"Team Mokaev & Team Kape got into an altercation at the fighters hotel, possibly due to the earlier rumours of a bloody altercation at the UFC PI🫣"

Manel Kape soon posted about the incident, even admitting to hitting Muhammad Mokaev in a rumored altercation at the UFC Performance Institute earlier this year:
