Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson recently reflected on his tense exchange with Kevin Holland and explained why it didn't result in a physical altercation. He noted that his patience was tested, but remained professional because he didn't want to jeopardize any opportunities.
'Rampage' and 'Trailblazer's tense back-and-forth exchange transpired on last week's episode of the MMA legend's JAXXON PODCAST, in which the middleweight competitor expressed interest in fighting him. The beef stemmed from a comment had Jackson made on Instagram that offended Holland and resulted in him not being friendly toward him when they began the podcast episode.
During the latest episode of his JAXXON PODCAST, 'Rampage' reflected on last week's exchange and told T.J. Dillashaw that he didn't want things to escalate any further. Jackson mentioned that there would have also been repercussions for him and instead remained calm and professional:
"I had to be real professional. I was real proud of myself...A man-to-man, you just don't tell another man, 'Shut the fu*k up'...without violence being threatened...I'm like, I'm gonna be the bigger guy...he got a fight this weekend...I cared about his fight and I don't want to lose my temper, fight him and get in trouble, and Dana White get mad at me because sometimes you got to be the bigger person in times like that." Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson says he understood why Kevin Holland was upset
In addition to reflecting on their tense exchange, Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson said he understood why Kevin Holland was upset with his past comment.
During the aforementioned episode, Jackson mentioned that he likes Holland despite the issues they had and noted that his comments on social media aren't meant to be disrespectful:
"[Holland] was upset with me cause I made a joke on Instagram. I make jokes, I like to laugh...It wasn't even a good joke, it was one of my jokes that didn't land, but I thought it was kind of funny...I like making the fans laugh sometimes, so I understand why [Holland] was upset...For me, I was making a joke. So I want all the fighters to know that if I make a joke about you, it's not personal." [5:27]
