Surging flyweight Muhammad Mokaev is eyeing a big step-up opportunity on the UFC 284 card, scheduled to go down in February in Perth, Australia.
The Dagestan-born Englishman has offered to be the backup for a clash between ranked contenders Kai Kara-France and Alex Perez. Urging UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard to give him a call, 'The Punisher' wrote:
"If Alex Perez pulls out against Kai Kara-France February 12th in Australia UFC call me @ufc @Mickmaynard2 I’m not far away, I’m preparing hard!🥇"

Perez was originally slated to face Amir Albazi last weekend but withdrew due to undisclosed reasons. The 30-year-old will look to end a two-fight skid when he faces Kara-France at UFC 284. 'Don't Blink' will also look to bounce back from a failed interim title bid against Brandon Moreno where he was stopped in the third round.

Muhammad Mokaev blitzed his way into the UFC flyweight rankings with three dominant wins in 2022 within a short span. The undefeated 9-0 fighter submitted Cody Durden within the opening minute of his UFC debut back in March.
'The Punisher' followed it up with a record-setting decision win over Charles Johnson in front of his home fans at UFC London in July. He subsequently submitted Malcolm Gordon at UFC 280 in October.
Muhammad Mokaev claims Matt Schnell refused to fight him at UFC London
The UFC will be returning to the O2 Arena in London in March for UFC 286. The event will likely be headlined by a trilogy clash between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman. Not wanting to miss out on an opportunity to fight at home, Muhammad Mokaev called out number seven-ranked flyweight contender Matt Schnell.
However, 'The Punisher' claims Schnell turned down the offer. Desperate to get back in action, the Liverpudlian wrote on Twitter:
"He said no yesterday unfortunately. Please someone fight me! @ufc"
Mokaev has also expressed interest in a London clash against Amir Albazi, who claims Las Vegas is his home. 'The Punisher' wrote:
"Immigrated to UK when you had nothing, now you feel Las Vegas your home, ok 🙃 Come to London March 18th I’ll bring you down to the earth.."
