2023 was an up-and-down year for the reigning undisputed ONE bantamweight MMA world champion, Fabricio Andrade after he split his assignments under the promotion.

But Andrade now aims to have a better result this 2024 and is looking to get back in action, as he recently posted on Instagram, which he captioned:

"Ready to get back in there, can't wait 👊🏽 #onechampionship #wonderboy"

'Wonder Boy' published several highlights of his two meetings with former ONE bantamweight MMA king John Lineker. Andrade showcased his incredible accuracy and power that stunned the 'Hands of Stone.'

The Brazilian star also captured the vacant world title at the expense of Lineker whom he defeated by fourth-round TKO in February 2023 at ONE Fight Night 7. Their first meeting was ruled as a no-contest because Andrade accidentally hit Lineker with an unintentional shot to the groin.

After his world championship breakthrough, Andrade was matched with ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty for the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title in November 2023 at ONE Fight Night 16.

Unfortunately, injuries affected his performance during the champion-versus-champion battle against 'The General' and resulted in a second-round knockout loss. This derailed his aspiration to become a two-sport world champion.

Fans are calling for a rematch between Fabricio Andrade and Kwon Won Il for the world title

Among the best bantamweight MMA contenders right now, number three-ranked Kwon Won Il has the most solid case to be the next challenger to Andrade's throne because he currently rides a three-fight win streak that was all TKO finishes.

Andrade defeated Kwon when they first fought in June 2022 at ONE 158 with a 62-second knockout finish. But since then, 'Pretty Boy' hasn't dropped a fight.

Furthermore, both athletes have been engaging in trash talk on social media, which has added to their animosity and made their rivalry more exciting.
