MMA fans recently voiced their thoughts about the condition that Dana White kept before Jon Jones if he wanted to continue fighting in the UFC. White directed that Jones needs to lock horns with Tom Aspinall next, despite Jones' distaste for the matchup.
Aspinall has been calling out Jones for a title unification bout since he bagged the interim heavyweight championship against Serghei Pavlovich at UFC 295. But Jones has dismissed all of his challenges, saying that he isn't a part of the legacy that Jones wants to create.
Jones had showcased interest in fighting Alex Pereira on several occasions. However, in a recent interview with Aaron Bronsteter, 'Bones' also stated that he will have no issues in relinquishing the undisputed heavyweight championship for a BMF title fight against Pereira.
But Dana White appeared on The Jim Rome Show where he clarified that Jones will have to take on Aspinall if he wants to continue in the promotion after UFC 309.

"Jon will do what he does on Saturday, and if he wins, you know, like I said, he'll disappear for a while....[But] if he doesn't decide to retire, he absolutely positively fights Aspinall."
A tweet from @mma_orbit also highlighted Dana White's comment about Jones' future in the UFC.
In the comments section of the tweet, lots of fans predicted that Jones would rather declare his UFC retirement than fight Aspinall. One such comment read:
"Smh get ready for the retirement speech"
Others concurred:
"So Jon Jones’ last fight is Saturday got it"
"Looks like he will vacate tbh"
"Yeah, so Saturday’s his last fight then"

Dana White revealed Islam Makhachev's future path in the UFC in the same way
The current UFC lightweight champ, Islam Makhachev, revealed his wish to move up to welterweight and fight for the title after his UFC 302 encounter with Dustin Poirier. But just like Dana White recently directed Jones' future in the UFC, he also had one direction for Makhachev to provide him with a free pass to move to welterweight.
During his appearance at the Power Slap 9 press conference, White mentioned that Makhachev could go up to welterweight to fight for the championship if he manages to defend his UFC lightweight gold once more.
