Conor McGregor's commercial empire could face significant financial repercussions following a recent court ruling in which he was found liable for assault. This verdict is expected to cause damage far beyond the initial $100,000 losses, with estimates suggesting that McGregor could lose tens of millions.

Several businesses have already severed ties with McGregor, including those linked to his whiskey and stout brands. According to a report by the Irish Mirror, 1,000 stores in Ireland and the UK have stopped selling whiskey and stout brands linked to the former UFC two-division champion, including major chains like Tesco, SuperValu, and Centra. Proximo Spirits, the distributor behind his Proper No. Twelve Whiskey announced recently that it would no longer use McGregor's name or image in its marketing efforts.

Tom Lyons, a renowned business journalist with the Sunday Times and co-author of The Fitzpatrick Tapes, highlighted the significant financial impact on McGregor’s ventures, including a reported loss of tens of millions of euros. Lyons also noted the uncertainty surrounding the potential spread of the backlash to markets in the United States and Asia, where McGregor’s major sponsorships and earnings are concentrated.

The report also indicates that his business ventures, including Forged Irish Stout and The Black Forge Inn, have suffered losses, with reported debts exceeding $8 million. His social media following has also dropped by 105,000, impacting his ability to charge for promotions.

Following the reports of the court verdict, companies like IO Interactive, responsible for the video game 'Hitman', have also cut ties with the Irishman. Financial experts claim that McGregor’s empire "suffered a blow" of almost $9.5million.

Conor McGregor's wax figure was recently removed from the National Wax Museum Plus in Dublin after the recent civil court case verdict.

The museum stated that it regularly reviews its exhibits to ensure they align with its values. McGregor's figure, unveiled in 2017, was a popular attraction, particularly among tourists. According to a statement released by the museum:

"As a family-friendly attraction, we regularly review our exhibits to ensure they align with our values and the expectations of our visitors. We will continue to monitor the situation and make decisions about future displays accordingly." [H/t: BBC]

Following the court verdict, several businesses, including Tesco and BWG Foods, have delisted McGregor-associated products like his whiskey and stout. Other companies, such as JD Wetherspoon and Filthy McNasty's, have suspended sales of McGregor-branded products, citing a commitment to customer values.
