English striker Liam Harrison is doing whatever he can to work out while recovering from his leg injury, and he misses sparring more than anything.

'Hitman' absorbed a few devastating leg kicks in the opening round of his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai title bout against Nong-O Hama last August.

Still recovering, Liam Harrison is dying to get back in the gym and start sparring. He posted on Instagram:

"I miss sparring so badly …might not look it but all these boys in the vid are the best of friends …how can you express love to your best friends other than punching them In the face and kicking them really hard… even when I retire will still be definitely sparring like this once a week ….it’s my favourite part of training and always has been…can’t wait to dance with you boys again in a few months."

Liam Harrison says Muay Thai saved him from a life on the streets

The 37-year-old had a tough childhood growing up in Leeds. He shared to fighters in his gym and his Instagram following how Muay Thai saved him from a life on the streets:

"Obviously, I've grown up in a rough area where honestly not many people make it out. A lot of my friends have ended up in jail. While they were out in the streets getting up to all sorts, I was in the gym."

Liam Harrison added:

"In the gym at 13, 14. Then at 15, I started to get really serious with my training... And that's when most of my friends - some were like getting sent off to jail and they're on the brink of either going one way or the other. I totally left all that."

Since joining ONE Championship in 2018, the veteran striker has picked up victories over Mohammed Bin Mahmoud, Brayan Matias, and most recently, Muangthai PK.Saenchai.

Harrison was scheduled to face Pongsiri PK.Saenchai this past January, but he was forced to withdraw due to injuries that required surgery.
