Fourth-ranked ONE Championship flyweight MMA contender and former world title challenger 'Lightning' Reece McLaren of Australia says fans want to see more of him, and not Yuya Wakamatsu, who he doesn't seem to be a huge fan of.
McLaren says Wakamatsu put on a boring fight against former divisional king Adriano Moraes, which left a bad taste in his mouth.
Wakamatsu dropped third-round submission defeat to then-champion Moraes at ONE X back in March of 2022.
Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview, McLaren shared his thoughts on Wakamatsu's performance. Let's just say he was not impressed.

'Lightning' stated:
"Let's be honest, it was a pretty boring fight [Adriano vs Yuya]. There were yellow cards handed out. I don't think the fans want to see that. I don't think ONE wants to see that. I think it's time that there's another world champion out of Australia, man. It's coming."
McLaren feels that he should be next in line to challenge for the vacant ONE flyweight MMA world title. And if he can get past his next opponent, the Australian star very well could be considered for the next crack at the gold.
However, beating his next opponent is easier said than done.
