As one of the most active fighters during the COVID-19 pandemic, Regian Eersel missed out on hearing the roar of the crowd for much of the last three years. That changed on Friday night when ONE Championship returned to a packed house at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
It was an exciting night of fights that saw two new world champions crowned as both Regian Eersel and Kade Ruotolo walked out of the arena with new ONE world titles strapped around their waists.
Following his lightweight Muay Thai world title victory, ‘The Immortal’ discussed the boost he got from the live crowd during the ONE on Prime Video 3 post-fight press conference:
“Yes, this was the first time with the audience since COVID-19. And I really got a boost. When I was coming up and I heard my music. And now I heard the audience, the people, and they were yelling for me. So it was really a boost for me also during the fight. That kept me hyped up.”

Eersel scored a closely contested split decision win over Muay Thai specialist Sinsamut Klinmee, who entered the bout with 80 career wins and back-to-back knockouts over Dutch legend Nieky Holzken and ‘Lethal’ Liam Nolan.

Regian Eersel willing to take on anyone ONE Championship puts in front of him
Regian Eersel is one of the best strikers in all of ONE Championship, but the 29-year-old two-sport champion is far from the type of person to throw around his accomplishments and call out fighters in trash-talking tirades.
Ready to return as early as this December, ‘The Immortal’ says that he will take on anyone that the promotion puts in front of him:
"You know, I have no name. As I said before, ONE Championship [can] give me a name and I'll be there. I'm not like really a high-fighter and challenge some people. I just want to fight, just give me a fight and I will be there. No name, just let me fight."
With two world championships to defend and being open to a potential transition to mixed martial arts, ‘The Immortal’ will likely have no shortage of potential challengers inside the Circle.
