This Friday at ONE on Prime Video 3, ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion Regian Eersel will look to add another belt to his collection, this time in Muay Thai.
Ahead of facing Sinsamut Klinmee for the inaugural ONE lightweight Muay Thai world championship, Eersel has continued to train in both disciplines, kickboxing and Muay Thai, simultaneously.
During his appearance at the virtual media day faceoffs, Regian Eersel spoke about how this camp has differed as he enters a new sport.
“Yeah the transition, that’s the only thing, the transition from the big gloves to the small gloves. I fought before with the small gloves in the kickboxing fight. So I have some experience with it.”

He added:
“In my training camp the only thing we did more is clinching and elbows. But during my kickboxing career, I kept training my elbows, so that was not a real problem for me to use the elbows.”
While speaking about the difference in glove sizes between the two sports, Regian Eersel was asked about whether he prefers competing in the smaller Muay Thai gloves. He responded:
“Yes, of course. I feel like I have no gloves on, it’s better for me.”

Riding a seven-fight undefeated streak, Eersel will look to achieve something not many have been able to accomplish by becoming a two-sport world champion this Friday at ONE on Prime Video 3.
“The way he’s fighting” - Regian Eersel acknowledges Sinsamut Klinmee’s impressive run in ONE Championship
ONE on Prime Video 3 will see a new champion crowned when Regian Eersel meets Sinsamut Klinmee for the inaugural ONE lightweight Muay Thai world championship.
Already holding the ONE lightweight kickboxing world championship, Eersel will face veteran striker Sinsamut Klinmee, who comes from a lineage of combat sports success.
Ahead of his chance to hold belts in two separate sports, Regian Eersel spoke to ONE Championship about his next opponent:
“The way he’s fighting, of course. He looks very good, fights very good, his KO power. He knocked out his last two opponents and that was impressive.”
Klinmee's knockouts that Eersel praised came against Dutch legend Nieky Holzken and British striker Liam Nolan. The two performances firmly announced his arrival in ONE.
With Klinmee coming into this fight off the back of his last two statement wins, as well as the undefeated streak of Eersel, who is now looking to add a Muay Thai belt to his resume, the ONE lightweight Muay Thai world championship is starting off its history with a great contest.
