'The Immortal' Regian Eersel has had a tremendously accomplished career. The ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion earned the crown in 2019 and has since defended his place on the throne in four bouts.
The Dutch-Surinamese fighter made his professional kickboxing debut nearly 10 years ago when he was just 21 years old. Since then, he has defeated many notable fighters, including Nieky Holzken, Arian Sadiković, Anthony Njokuani, and Brad Riddell, among many others.
During the recent ONE virtual media day faceoffs, the world champion was asked how he keeps up his consistency. He explained:
"The secret is really simple: it’s just hard work, doing it every day, believe in yourself. That’s it."

Regian Eersel will be challenging for a new throne at ONE on Prime Video 3 on October 21 as he looks to become a two-sport world champion.
'The Immortal' will be fighting for the inaugural ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title against Thailand's Sinsamut Klinmee, who has dangerous power in his hands.
Regian Eersel wants challenges in life
'The Immortal' will be leaving his comfortable position atop the kickboxing world to challenge for a throne in Muay Thai. With new gloves, new rules, and a dangerous opponent, Regian Eersel will be in for a major challenge at ONE on Prime Video 3.
Nevertheless, the Dutch-Surinamese fighter wants these challenges as they motivate him. He explained his point of view in an interview with BeyondKick:
"I’m moving to Muay Thai because it’s a new challenge for me. I got the opportunity from ONE Championship to fight for the vacant Muay Thai world title and I immediately said yes. I like challenges, life is a challenge. Without the challenge, you don’t live. You have to challenge yourself and I’m doing that right now."
Moving from kickboxing to Muay Thai will be a huge test of Eersel's skills. But being a two-sport world champion in ONE will help him carve his legacy as he looks to become a legend.
