Regian Eersel isn't guaranteeing a trilogy bout against Alexis Nicolas would be next if he wins the rematch.

On Friday, October 4, Eersel will fight for the first time since losing his ONE lightweight kickboxing world title in April. The 31-year-old's latest fight, which takes place in the ONE Fight Night 25 main event, is against the man who handed him his lone promotional loss last time out - Alexis Nicolas.

Eersel has a massive opportunity to avenge his loss against Nicolas and regain his status as a two-sport world champion. On the contrary, 'Barboza' plans to defeat Eersel once again and strengthen his resume as an undefeated kickboxer.

During an interview with ONE, Regian Eersel was asked about a potential trilogy bout with Alexis Nicolas if he regains the lightweight kickboxing world title. 'The Immortal' had this to say about the chance of moving on depending on the result:

"I'm going to tell you two things. If I'm going to beat him. But if I'm going to beat him and the scorecard is like the fight before, like with a little bit of points difference, then we can go for the trilogy. But if I beat him fair and square, like I'll have five rounds on my name you have to wait in the line. Back in the line you have to wait back on the line."

ONE Fight Night 25 goes down inside the legendary combat sports venue of Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. Friday's event in Bangkok, Thailand can be seen live and for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Regian Eersel could return to Muay Thai next

Regian Eersel is solely focused on taking out Alexis Nicolas at ONE Fight Night 25 to take back control of the lightweight kickboxing division. Meanwhile, Eersel remains the ONE lightweight Muay Thai world champion, a title that he might defend in his next fight regardless of the result on Friday.

Eersel's last Muay Thai fight took place in June 2023 when he knocked out Dmitry Menshikov in 46 seconds. Since then, Menshikov has proven he deserves another chance at ONE gold by securing consecutive wins against Rungrawee, Mouchine Chafi, and Sinsamut Klinmee.

Although it's unconfirmed by ONE, Eersel vs Menshikov 2 might take place in early 2025, as the former's fourth rematch in the promotion.
