Surinamese-Dutch fighter Regian Eersel will return to defend his ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title against familiar foe Sinsamut Klinmee in a ONE Friday Fights offering on March 17.
'The Immortal' will look to make it two wins in a row over Sinsamut, who he defeated via split decision for the inaugural lightweight Muay Thai gold last October at ONE on Prime Video 3.
The victory made Regian Eersel, also the ONE lightweight kickboxing king, a two-sport world champion. However, it did not come without adversity as Sinsamut did not bow down easily.

Regian Eersel took early control of their five-round clash with his blistering boxing combinations and low kicks. Midway through the contest, though, Sinsamut began asserting himself, connecting with his own combos of punches and kicks that considerably slowed down his opponent.
Recognizing that Sinsamut had overhauled whatever lead he had established in the early goings, Regian Eersel dug deep in the final round. He picked up his attack while limiting Sinsamut's hits. That proved to be the difference as he escaped with a split decision from the judges.
ONE Friday Fights is a weekly show happening at the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The show features top Muay Thai fighters from around the world as well as noted prospects coming out of Thailand. The fight series kicked off on January 20.
“Never say never” - Regian Eersel says he’s young, not ruling out transition to MMA
Two-sport world champion Regian Eersel has climbed the summit of both kickboxing and Muay Thai in ONE Championship. Now, he is not ruling out venturing to mixed martial arts in the future.
While focusing right now on being the best pound-for-pound striker out there, he said his goal of continuing to evolve as a fighter may eventually lead him to the multi-faceted sport of MMA.
Speaking at one of the promotion's press conferences, 'The Immortal' said:
“Maybe [I’d switch to MMA]. Never say never. I don’t know what the future will bring, but I’m open. I’m only 29 years old, so I still have about 10 years to go!”
As the lightweight kickboxing world champion, Eersel has had four successful title defenses since winning the belt in 2019, the latest of which was over Arian Sadikovic of Germany by unanimous decision last April.
The Surinamese-Dutch striker will defend his ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title for the first time next month at a ONE Friday Fights offering against a familiar foe in Thai Sinsamut Klinmee. It is a rematch of their tightly fought world title clash last October, which ended in a split decision in Eersel’s favor.
