Reinier de Ridder doesn’t want to lose his undefeated MMA record anytime soon.

Sixteen opponents have tried to take out ‘The Dutch Knight,’ and sixteen have failed. De Ridder’s next opponent at ONE on Prime Video 5, Anatoly Malykhin, also has an undefeated record, but the two-division world champion doesn’t see himself losing.

During an interview with The MMA Superfan, De Ridder had this to say:

“I used to think that another undefeated challenger would scare me. So to face a guy who's never lost before, I used to think that would be a scary thing. But to be honest, I feel no fear for this man. I'm not anxious at all about this fight. I'm fully prepared. So that's not it. I don't know. Hopefully, we won't find that out anytime soon.”

After defending his middleweight title twice in 2022, De Ridder is returning to the light heavyweight division at ONE on Prime Video 5. Meanwhile, Malykhin won the ONE interim heavyweight title in February, and he’s looking to stay busy while Arjan Bhullar finishes recovering from an injury. As the famous saying states, "someone’s O has got to go."

Reinier de Ridder talks about his consistent reach advantage against opponents from different weight classes

Reinier de Ridder has a 6’7” wingspan supporting his 6’4’ height. Therefore, whether he’s fighting at middleweight or light heavyweight, ‘The Dutch Knight’ likely has a reach advantage.

During the same interview with The MMA Superfan, De Ridder discussed his consistent reach advantage by saying:

“The good thing is I'm always longer right. So whatever weight we fight in, I always have the reach advantage. So that's just a nice thing to have.”

For the first time since joining ONE Championship, De Ridder’s ONE on Prime Video 5 opponent will have a reach advantage over the two-division world champion.

Anatoly Malykhin possesses a one-inch reach advantage, despite being five inches shorter. ‘The Dutch Knight’ wants to move up to heavyweight eventually, so Malykhin offers him a test against heavyweight power and reach at ONE on Prime Video 5.

ONE on Prime Video 5 will be broadcast live on Friday, December 2, and is free for fans in the United States and Canada with an Amazon Prime subscription.
