Reinier de Ridder doesn’t care if his fight with Anatoly Malykhin is at light heavyweight or heavyweight; the mission will remain the same.

When ‘The Dutch Knight’ returns to the circle, he will put his light heavyweight world title on the line against the promotion’s reigning interim heavyweight world champion Anatoly Malykhin. While it may not be the circumstances he wants, Reinier de Ridder is happy to have the opportunity to pick off another ONE world champion. Speaking with the South China Morning Post (SCMP), de Ridder said:

“This is the fight right now. I’m fully focused on this one. The only thing I want is to destroy this guy. He’s the next guy to deserve it. And when I do, I would be very content with that. It would feel the same if it’s at heavyweight or light heavyweight. It’s just a guy in front of me.”

Quickly gaining a reputation for being a destroyer of champions, ‘The Dutch Knight’ could add another big name to his hit list on December 2 should he leave Manila victorious. You can watch ONE on Prime Video 5 headliner live and free on Amazon Prime Video with an active subscription.

Anatoly Malykhin expects to knock out Reinier de Ridder at ONE on Prime Video 5

When Anatoly Malykhin challenges two-division world champion Reinier de Ridder for the ONE light heavyweight title, he expects to deliver a spectacular knockout in front of a hyped crowd at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila. Speaking to ONE Championship, Malykhin said:

“If I hit him the way he hit Vitaly, he’s unlikely to remember anything about his jiu-jitsu skills. Maybe later after the knockout when his team tries to bring him back to life, he might remember that he is a black belt in jiu-jitsu. But overall, he is not a bad fighter. He has a record of 16-0, which is impressive. He is a jiu-jitsu fighter, but this is MMA – let’s see how he adjusts.”

While Reinier de Ridder’s bread and butter have been his work on the ground, it would be a mistake to discredit his skills on the feet. ‘The Dutch Knight’ carries two career knockouts, one coming under the ONE Championship banner against Gilberto Galvao at ONE: Legendary Quest.

Will ‘The Dutch Knight’ be able to withstand the strength of Anatoly Malkykin and score another spectacular finish against a ONE world champion?
