Angela Lee and Xiong Jing Nan have produced one of the best trilogies that ONE Championship has ever seen. With three great fights with world championships on the line, both women have had their careers boosted by their rivalry.
Both women came into their trilogy fight with a win over each other. Both Angela Lee and Xiong Jing Nan have fought each other for their respective world championships, coming up short when trying to take each other's titles.
In their first fight, Angela Lee challenged her rival for the strawweight world championship, losing via TKO in the fifth round. For their rematch, Lee’s atomweight world championship was on the line and she defended it with a fifth-round choke just six months down the line from their first meeting.
The trilogy fight to decide their rivalry produced one of the fights of the year in ONE Championship at ONE on Prime Video 2. With Lee once again trying to take Xiong Jing Nan’s strawweight world championship, the fight continued the series' tendency of the defending champion getting the win.

“That would be exciting” - Angela Lee wants to see Xiong Jing Nan compete at atomweight
Angela Lee is interested in seeing her rival Xiong Jing Nan return to atomweight and compete in her division.
‘The Panda’ is the reigning ONE women’s strawweight world champion and holds two wins and a loss in her trilogy with Lee. Whilst Lee’s two losses came when she moved up to strawweight to challenge Xiong for her world championship, she was able to defend her atomweight title successfully in their second meeting.
In an interview with SCMP MMA, the current atomweight champion spoke about the Chinese world champion returning to her division for another crack at the title in a fourth fight between the two women:
“I’d love to actually see her [Xiong] fight some of the girls in the atomweight division as well, that would be exciting.”
The trilogy between Lee and Xiong proved just how difficult it is to become a double world champion in MMA. Whilst both women achieved victories when fighting in their respective divisions, neither have been able to pick up a win when competing in their opponent's natural weight class.
After their trilogy delivered a great fight, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a fourth bout between the two with Lee’s world championship on the line for the second time.
