Ahead of the next defense of his bantamweight Muay Thai world championship against Jonathan Haggerty at ONE Fight Night 9, it feels like a good time to reflect on his stellar run inside the Circle.

After producing back-to-back wins in his first two fights with ONE Championship in 2018, Nong-O challenged for the vacant bantamweight Muay Thai world championship in 2019.

Facing China’s Han Zi Hao in Bangkok, Thailand, the Thai star produced a ruthless performance that fans have come to expect from him.

Nong-O Hama set to face-off with Jonathan Haggerty at ONE Fight Night 9

At ONE Fight Night 9 on April 21, Nong-O Hama will look to continue his dominant run as the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion by defending his title for the eighth time.

Looking to dethrone Nong-O Hama at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium is England’s Jonathan Haggerty.

A former flyweight Muay Thai world champion, ‘The General’ recently decided to move up a weight class after making his name in the flyweight division.

On his debut, Haggerty edged out a very close contest Russia’s Vladimir Kuzmin, coming away with a majority decision.

Whilst Haggerty is no stranger to competing in huge Muay Thai contests having produced a pair of classics with Rodtang Jitmuangnon in the past, taking the title from Nong-O at this stage will take something truly special.

For the defending champion, this fight will be a relatively quick turnaround for him after already fighting once this year.

In the debut event of ONE’s Friday Fights series in January, Nang-O Hama defeated Russia’s Alaverdi Ramazanov, producing a great comeback to stop his opponent in the third round.
