Chris Curtis is not typically the kind of fighter to be vulnerable on social media, but he opened up on his personal hardship on Aug. 30. Without directly stating it, 'The Action Man' let his followers know that he is dealing with the loss of a close friend with a heartfelt message sent to his late comrade.
The middleweight bid his friend "farewell," saying he helped him "learn so much about fighting." Curtis did not ever name his friend but ended his tweet telling his followers who may be struggling with mental health to "reach out."
Fans were emotional with the sentiment from Curtis, sending their best wishes to the 37-year-old veteran. One fan advised him to "remember the memories," commenting:

Chris Curtis' next UFC fight
A nine-fight veteran in the UFC, Chris Curtis does not currently have his next fight booked after losing on short notice to Brendan Allen in the main event of UFC Vegas 90. Curtis tore his hamstring at the end of the fight and has been recovering from the injury ever since. He was booked to face Kevin Holland at UFC 307 but withdrew from the fight with a foot fracture that he claims he suffered from kicking Caio Borralho in sparring.
In his time away from the cage, Curtis has been focusing on his strength and conditioning routine to gain size for his next fight. 'The Action Man' bounced back and forth between welterweight and middleweight before signing with the UFC but has competed solely at 185 pounds in the octagon.
Even with the loss to Allen, Curtis is clinging onto a No.15 ranking in the UFC middleweight division.
