Renato Moicano recently expressed interest in fighting a top lightweight contender and vowed to eventually become UFC lightweight champion. He is coming off an impressive performance and could be in a great position to fight a top-5 opponent in his next bout.
'Money' earned an impressive win over Benoit Saint-Denis this past Saturday and proceeded to call for bouts against the likes of Dan Hooker and Paddy Pimblett. Although Hooker is currently ranked No.5, it appears as though the Brazilian has set his sights on another top-ranked lightweight contender.
During the latest episode of his Show Me the Money Podcast, 'Money' told co-hosts Matty Betss and Gilbert Burns that he liked Chael Sonnen's suggestion regarding a bout against former interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje.
Moicano mentioned that a bout against Gaethje is logical and stated that he believes his recent win over Saint-Denis is proof that he is on track to becoming lightweight champion:

"I saw Chael Sonnen talking about that and I agree with him. I think Justin Gaethje would be a good fight and doesn't matter, brother. I'm coming for the gold, my brother. I will be fu**ing champion of this division...You guys saw Saturday."

Renato Moicano prefers a bout against Justin Gaethje instead of Dan Hooker
In addition to expressing interest for a potential bout against No.3 ranked lightweight Justin Gaethje, Renato Moicano noted that he prefers a bout against 'The Highlight' instead of Dan Hooker.
During the aforementioned clip, Moicano mentioned that Hooker had an opportunity to push for a bout against him and believes that fighting him could be possible for December or January:
"I would rather face Justin Gaethje because I think Dan Hooker is not gonna get the fight. He has the opportunity now to say, 'Let's fight', but he's saying that I dodged him in Perth. That's not true because they didn't offer me the fight...I', ready. December, January, doesn't matter. But if Dan Hooker doesn't want that fight, let's go with Justin Gaethje."
