Renato Moicano recently opened up about his whirlwind of a day as he would be replacing Arman Tsarukyan and challenging Islam Makhachev for the lightweight championship in the UFC 311 main event. He promised to take the fight to the Dagestani and pull off a massive upset.
The Brazilian was already preparing to compete and make weight as he was scheduled to fight Beneil Dariush on the same card. He weighed in at 155 pounds, which is the lightweight limit for title fights, making his contest against Makhachev official as the new main event.

Moicano promised to leave it all in the octagon and mentioned that he is confident that he will dethrone the Dagestani in Los Angeles.
"January 18 is the day that I will become [lightweight] champion...I make the weight and tomorrow I'm ready for war...Islam Makhachev, my brother, tomorrow I'm coming for you and I'm coming for that belt. Let's fu**ing go. We are right here...Los Angeles, California, look at the city, my brother, look at that place. And tomorrow that place will be my city. This 'Money' Moicano town now, and tomorrow I will be the champion." [0:11]
