Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy recently accused transgender MMA fighter Fallon Fox of committing gender violence against cisgender women. Fox made her professional MMA debut in May 2012 and fought twice before openly coming out as transgender in March 2013. She has won five out of her six fights.
In a series of tweets, Ramaswamy went off on 'The Queen of Swords' and accused her of committing "violence against women." The GOP presidential prospect posted footage of Fox's fight against Ericka Newsome from the CFA 10 event in March 2013 and wrote:
"A biological man fractures a woman’s skull. We used to call this violence against women. Now we call it a victory for trans rights. Listen to the “woman’s” voice at the end. The trans cult is a mental health epidemic in our country, and it needs to stop."

While Fallon Fox has previously fractured Tammika Brent's skull during a fight in September 2014, the fighter in the video Ramaswamy shared isn't her. The video shows Fox beating Ericka Newsome, who did not suffer a skull fracture during her fight.
Ramaswamy followed up with another tweet promising to address the issue if he becomes president in an attempt to appeal to voters.
Transgender MMA fighter: Joe Rogan on Fallon Fox competing against cisgender women
While the debate around allowing biologically male fighters to compete against cisgender women continues to be a trending topic of discussion among the MMA community, Joe Rogan tried to be objective and shared a nuanced take on the issue.
The host of the globally popular The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) podcast claimed he despised transgender fighters who dishonestly hid their identity and history before their fights.
In an episode of his podcast (JRE #1895) with American conservative activist Matt Walsh, Rogan referred to Fallon Fox hiding her history while fighting as a woman and said:
"There was a transgender fighter that was hiding the fact, [it was] Fallon Fox, that they were biologically male and competed... As a woman, and beating the f**k out of these women and trying to say that it was just a medical procedure."
However, Rogan further revealed that he didn't have a problem if transgender women fought cisgender women with mutual consent. He stated:
"If you're a transgender athlete and you tell someone, 'Hey, I was biologically male but now identify as a female, would you like to fight?' And that person still says yes, all in, go ahead, have fun."
