It appears Khabib Nurmagomedov isn't a fan of the Irish MMA scene at all. The former UFC lightweight champion recently compared Dagestan's MMA circuit to Ireland's level and opined that his arch-rival Conor McGregor's home country didn't produce good fighters.
In a recent interview with PFL MMA, 'The Eagle' explained why he didn't consider Irish MMA fighters to be high-level competitors and named McGregor and Paul Hughes as the only fighters from that country to make it big. He said:
"Brother, Ireland don't have fighters, brother. Let’s be honest. How many fighters do you know from Ireland? Paul Hughes and Conor [McGregor], and who else? There is no fighter, brother. You come to Dagestan, you can understand... Let's be honest, Dagestan level of MMA here [high hand gesture], but Ireland level? Not even half of Dagestan level."
After @ChampRDS shared a clip of Nurmagomedov's comments in an X post, fans flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts.

MMA manager names one fighter who could surpass Khabib Nurmagomedov's unbeaten record
Ali Abdelaziz recently named one fighter who could potentially cross Khabib Nurmagomedov's 29-0 unbeaten record. Given the Nurmagomedov family pedigree in the mixed martial arts world, it's no surprise that the MMA manager picked an undefeated fighter from the clan.
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Abdelaziz claimed Umar Nurmagomedov could potentially exceed his legendary cousin's record. He is notably set to challenge Merab Dvalishvili for the bantamweight title at UFC 311 later this month. Abdelaziz said:
"There’s no doubt in my mind Umar will be a champion at 135 pounds, and I believe Umar is going to be a champion for a long time. I think Umar is the only guy who can really challenge Khabib’s record. He can retire undefeated, 29-0, 30-0. Of course, he has a tough opponent, but I believe Umar is better everywhere.” [H/t: MMA Junkie]
