Rob Font is set to return to the octagon to face Adrian Yanez in what will undoubtedly be a firework spectacle at bantamweight, with the pair set to collide on the April 8 UFC card.

The Bostonian was on the wrong side of a dominant performance at the hands of Marlon Vera last time out and will be looking to rediscover his form inside the cage next year. Currently enduring a two-fight losing streak, he has fallen out of the top 5 in his division and is no longer in the stacked title picture at bantamweight.

As reported earlier today, Rob Font will be welcoming the surging Adrian Yanez into the octagon and attempting to force his way back into the winner's column with a standout display on April 8.

Yanez was originally hoping to be included in the UFC Fight Night card on March 25 in his home state of Texas, but it has now been confirmed that the rising star won't be competing on that card.

Despite being snubbed for the San Antonio event, there is a silver lining for the 29-year-old as he will now face the toughest challenge of his MMA career to date, with high stakes on the line.

Not only is a win over Rob Font a great name to add to his record, but if he manages to get his hands raised in April, Adrian Yanez will snatch his opponents' position in the division and be the new No.6-ranked bantamweight of the world.

While the sport is often unpredictable, it's arguably safe to assume that these two will want to showcase their elite striking and put on a show for the fans, with the fight most likely taking place on the feet for as long as it lasts.

Adrian Yanez's path to fighting Rob Font

Rob Font is, without a doubt, the biggest challenge of Yanez's career. However, the rising prospect has proved throughout his two years with the UFC that he is capable of hanging with some tough opponents.

During his five fights with the promotion dating back to October 2020, the boxer has earned four performance bonuses and one fight of the night bonus, showing that he always comes to fight.

His latest win went down well with a large portion of UFC fans who disliked Tony Kelley for comments made earlier in his career, but his most impressive win was arguably his decision victory over tough veteran Davey Grant.
