Combat sports fans are divided by Artur Beterbiev's victory over Dmitry Bivol, with the official scorecard of 116–112, sparking intense discussion. While some thought Bivol ought to have raised his hand, others believed Beterbiev performed better in the later rounds to seal the win.

Beterbiev squared off against Bivol for the undisputed light heavyweight title this past Saturday at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Both men entered the title fight undefeated. In the early rounds, Bivol's movement and athleticism were on display as he kept Beterbiev at a distance with jabs and combinations. However, Bivol got tired as the fight went on from the 39-year-old's relentless pressure and body blows.

Beterbiev's tenacity in the final rounds led to heavy shots and a noticeable injury to Bivol's left eye. After intense action of 12 rounds, the Canadian won by majority decision (114-114, 115-113, 116-112).
