Roberto Soldic trains with legendary Mirko Cro Cop over the holidays

Croatia's Roberto Soldic is one of the highest-viewed newcomers in all of ONE Championship and he's bettering his skills alongside MMA legend Mirko Cro Cop.

'Robocop' entered the promotion as a former two-division KSW champion and with immense hype behind him. The 27-year-old was tasked with facing unbeaten Russian star Murad Ramazanov on his ONE debut, which resulted in a no-contest ruling.

While billions of people were celebrating the holidays with their families, Soldic spent his holiday training with former multi-organizational champion Mirko Crop Cop.

Not only did Soldic have the chance to work with an icon, but it was an opportunity for him to train with one of his heroes. In a past interview with ONE, Soldic said:

“We used to watch Cro Cop in Japan. So we wake up always in the morning, like, three, four o'clock in the night.”

'Robocop' has set very high goals for himself, one of which includes winning a world title in ONE Championship. However, he's gunning for belts in kickboxing and Muay Thai in addition to mixed martial arts.

He told the promotion:

“They [ONE Championship] give me opportunity to take all the belts, kickboxing world champion, Muay Thai world champion, MMA world champion, also boxing world champion. I want to create something for my people, my own legacy, so I chose ONE Championship for sure.”

Soldic is undoubtedly a well-rounded fighter, but it's his striking prowess that stands out above the rest. Of his 20 professional victories, 17 have come by way of KO/TKO, including a knockout over UFC middleweight contender Dricus du Plessis.

The rising star has been touted as one of the top fighters in all of Europe for nearly a decade. He hopes to confirm that notion on the global stage in the circle. ONE Championship won the sweepstakes once Soldic became a free agent, beating out organizations like the UFC, RIZIN, and others.
