Muay Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon returns to the circle this Friday night to defend his ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship against another reigning ONE Championship titleholder.
'The Iron Man’ will put it all on the line against the promotion’s strawweight Muay Thai king, Joseph Lasiri.
Ahead of the highly anticipated champion vs. champion clash at ONE on Prime Video 4, Rodtang spoke with ONE to share his thoughts on Lasiri and how they are similar, yet different:
“Everything he has is on the same level as me, except for his impact force. His attacks are weaker than mine."

Joseph Lasiri can likely match the fast and furious pace that ‘The Iron Man’ is known for, but can he match the flyweight star’s power? Not according to Rodtang, but that may not be the only way the two Muay Thai practitioners are different.
Rodtang Jitmuangnon is known for his iron chin, hence the nickname. His ability to take a punch, even sometimes from himself, is unprecedented. ‘The Hurricane’ certainly has the speed to catch ‘The Iron Man’ but does he have the power to put him away? We’ll find out this Friday night.
Joseph Lasiri and Rodtang won’t be the only champions squaring off inside the circle on November 18. Reigning lightweight titleholder Christian Lee will attempt to capture his second strap when he challenges ONE welterweight world champion Kiamrian Abbasov.
The event will air live on Amazon Prime Video and will be free for active subscribers across North America.
Rodtang Jitmuangnon plans to go after Joseph Lasiri as soon as the bell rings
If things go according to plan, Rodtang Jitmuangnon’s signature aggressive style will be on full display when he steps into the co-main event with Joseph Lasiri this Friday night.
In a recent interview with ONE, ‘The Hurricane’ revealed that his game plan was to make ‘The Iron Man’ angry during their co-main encounter:
“What is more comfortable? Fighting Rodtang [when he is moving] forward or fighting Rodtang technically? To me, I think it’s more comfortable to fight Rodtang if [he is going] forward. So, the game plan is to make Rodtang angry and then he will come to me.”
Responding to Lasiri’s comments, Rodtang Jitmuangnon ensured his opponent that he won’t need to get angry. He’ll already be angry when the two warriors step into the cage on Friday night:
“Just let him do as he likes. In fact, I guess he will have no time to make me angry. And no need to lure me into his game. I will come for him anyway.”
