Rodtang Jitmuangnon isn’t currently focused on fighting Nong-O Gaiyanghadao.

Rodtang vs. Nong-O is one of the most intriguing potential Muay Thai matchups of all time. ‘The Iron Man’ has dominated ONE Championship opponents, having defended the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title five times in an undefeated 11-fight run in striking competition with the promotion.

Meanwhile, Nong-O has been similarly impressive, successfully defending the bantamweight crown six times with a similarly pristine 9-0 record.

During his ONE on Prime Video 4 post-fight media interview, the Jitmuangnon Gym fighter had this to say:

“My goal, for now, is just to maintain and defend my world champion belt. As of now, I don't think I will make my way to another division to challenge for the world title such as Nong-O, he's a legend. I respect him a lot. But it's not the time for me to go up and fight with him just now. Maybe in the future, when he is in a wheelchair or something.”

After defeating Joseph Lasiri at ONE on Prime Video 4, Rodtang expressed his desire to transition to the flyweight kickboxing division and attempt to become a two-sport world champion.

However, ‘The Iron Man’ must first defend his throne against the winner of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix before moving on to a different sport or weight class. The tournament final is scheduled to take place at ONE 164 on December 3 in Manila, Philippines.

Chatri Sityodtong hails Rodtang Jitmuangnon as the "biggest global superstar" in Muay Thai

Rodtang Jitmuangnon has become a combat sports superstar due to his aggressive fighting style and unbelievable durability. ‘The Iron Man’ has been a big part of ONE Championship’s U.S. expansion, and the ONE Chairman and CEO couldn’t be happier with him.

During the ONE on Prime Video 4 post-fight media interviews, Chatri Sityodtong said this about Rodtang:

“There's no doubt that Rodtang is now the biggest global superstar that Muay Thai has ever seen in the history of the sport, full stop. If you look at his fighting style, his KO percentage. If you look at his charisma in and out of the cage, this guy is going to be huge. You watch him in the next two or three years, he's going to be truly, truly mainstream, global superstar and all over the world. This is what I predict. I mean, he has everything.”

At 26, Rodtang Jitmuangnon could just be getting started with aspirations to compete in the ONE kickboxing and MMA divisions. The Muay Thai phenom also recently competed in a mixed-rules fight against MMA legend Demetrious Johnson, where ‘Mighty Mouse’ won by second-round submission. Regardless of the opponent, ‘The Iron Man’ always shows up ready to entertain the fans with a war.
