ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon successfully defended his world title against ONE strawweight Muay Thai king Joseph Lasiri in the co-main event of ONE on Prime Video 4. 'The Iron Man' was in his usual frightening form, stalking 'The Hurricane' and battering him from pillar to post.

One interesting bit that was learned right before the bout was something ONE commentator Mitch Chilson said. Apparently, Rodtang was angry coming into the bout. This may come as a surprise as the ONE flyweight Muay Thai king always looks like he has the anger of a thousand Hulks every time he steps inside the Circle. If that's not angry Rodtang yet, imagine what the real deal looks like.

As it turned out, Rodtang Jitmuangnon indeed looked angry and fired up as he never gave Lasiri a chance to mount any serious offense. 'The Iron Man' threw everything but the kitchen sink and battered Lasiri like he owed him money.

In his post-fight interview with ONE Championship, Rodtang was asked what caused him to be angry coming into the fight. The ONE flyweight Muay Thai king answered with:

"So earlier I recall he said something like, [he will retire me on my stool] like what he did to Prajanchai. So that's what upset me, when he talked too much that time."

Let this be a lesson to never threaten to beat Rodtang into retirement in a fight. Not only is this a near-impossible task to achieve, it will also anger the frightening Thai. Trust us, you don't want to be standing in front of him when he's angry.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon vs. Joseph Lasiri play-by-play

Right from the opening bell, Joseph Lasiri stayed light on his feet while Rodtang walked him down with an unusual sense of calm. ''The Hurricane' was obviously using a stick-and-move strategy to avoid getting pulled into a firefight with Rodtang. Lasiri then landed a solid 1-2 then ‘The Iron Man’ immediately encouraged the Italian-Moroccan to do it again.

In round two, the Jitmuangnon fighter continued stalking Lasiri but this time, he was more aggressive with his combinations. Rodtang eventually sat ‘The Hurricane’ down with a nifty inside elbow. The ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion ended the round by continually battering the legs of Lasiri.

Through rounds 3 and 4, Rodtang Jitmuangnon continued to press the action and land the bigger strikes, eventually knocking down Lasiri towards the end of the fourth.

With 45 seconds left in the fifth and final round, Rodtang landed a nasty 3-2 combination that put Lasiri on the canvas for a ten-count. The bout came to a close almost perfectly similar to how it began: Rodtang Jitmuangnon aggressively attacked while Lasiri constantly avoided exchanges in the pocket.

In the end, there was no doubt as to who emerged victorious in the battle for the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title.
