Rodtang Jitmuangnon has been willing to take on any challenger inside the circle. At ONE on Prime Video 4, he continued his reign of dominance by defeating the ONE strawweight Muay Thai champion Joseph Lasiri to retain his own world title.

Whilst many believed it would be an incredibly tough fight for Lasiri, Rodtang showed a different level of savagery from the moment the fight started and didn’t let up for its duration. ‘The Iron Man’ has proven that he is not scared of any man, even taking on flyweight MMA champion Demetrious Johnson in a mixed-rules fight earlier this year.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon now has his sights set on facing a high-profile free agent who would be a dream match-up for the flyweight Muay Thai king. Takeru Segawa recently announced that he had become a free agent, prompting Rodtang to immediately call him out. In his post-fight interview, the champion spoke about the possibility of facing the kickboxing superstar:

“It's really dependent on my boss Chatri for those opportunities. Because I'm ready for him anytime. When the match is set up, I'll be ready for him. It just depends on when he can join ONE Championship.”

ONE on Prime Video 4: Rodtang Jitmuangnon punishes Joseph Lasiri across five rounds in world title fight

At ONE on Prime Video 4, flyweight king Rodtang Jitmuangnon returned to the circle to defend his ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title against his contemporary at strawweight Joseph ‘The Hurricane’ Lasiri.

After starting out at 0-4 in ONE Championship, Joseph Lasiri made a huge career turnaround, winning his last three fights, including an incredible stoppage over the former world champion of the division, Prajanchai PK.Saenchai. He was looking to make it three in a row against ‘The Iron Man’, a feat which would’ve been the biggest upset of all.

From the start of the fight, it was clear that Lasiri was in an uphill battle. The Italian-Moroccan stayed light on his feet as ‘The Iron Man’ marched him down, looking completely relaxed and unfazed by anything Lasiri threw.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon continued to taunt his opponent, trying to beckon him into trading, but the strawweight champion stuck to his game plan. After Lasiri was knocked down with an elbow in the second round, the fight began to slip away from the challenger.

The fight played out just as it had started, with the sense that Lasiri couldn’t afford to engage with his opponent and instead needed to just make it to the final bell. With a completely dominant but still entertaining performance from the champion, he sealed the deal by dropping his opponent for the second time in the final round.

After the final bell rang, there was no doubt as to who had won the match, as the two fighters showed their respect for each other.
