Muay Thai superstar Rodtang made his fourth ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title defense against Joseph Lasiri at ONE on Prime Video 4. Despite being only 25 years old, the champ's experience yields him the ability to avoid the hardest shots.
'The Iron Man' lived up to his nickname in his most recent title bout, methodically out-striking the Italian-born challenger and current strawweight champion. A pair of knockdowns led to Rodtang earning an obvious unanimous decision victory.
After the win, the Thai striker spoke on a specific aspect of his mindset in the midst of fights. He said in his post-fight interview:

"Most of the headshots that I got from my opponents, as an experienced boxer, I can estimate how hard the punches will be. So at times, when they punch me, it's like nothing to me, but at times there are hard punches coming my way and I cannot avoid them, it's something that I cannot do myself, so I had to take it."
Since joining ONE in 2019, Rodtang has racked up wins over formidable foes like Jonathan Haggerty, Walter Goncalves, Tagir Khalilov, and Danial Williams, amongst others. All this time in the circle has made him the fighter he is today.
Rodtang gunning for world titles in two other sports
Perhaps successfully defending his Muay Thai belt time and time again is getting a bit boring for the Thai superstar. It appears as though he's pondering the idea of testing the waters in other sports. He said after his recent win:
“What I'm aiming for right now is that I'm going to get the world title for kickboxing as a second sport world champion. So after that, I'm going to go all the way in MMA and then challenge whoever the champion is at that time. It's coming soon as a future fight for sure.”
Rodtang is already entrenched within ONE's history books, but gaining a world title in a second sport would cast his stardom into an entirely different category.
