Rodtang Jitmuangnon has got plenty of information to study on his next opponent before they eventually collide at ONE 169.
Not only have the two men faced off once before, but they also shared a common opponent from their previous outings under the ONE Championship banner.
The first time that 'The Iron Man' went head-to-head with Jacob Smith, there was only ever one clear winner as the Thai superstar dominated the fight.
Smith, however, is confident that he is far better than he was two and a half years ago when he made his ONE debut against the flyweight Muay Thai king.

In his last fight, the Brit faced off with Denis Puric and lost a close contest that he believed he did enough to win.
Puric then went on to face Rodtang in a great kickboxing clash at ONE 167 that the Thai icon convincingly won despite it being an entertaining bout.
In a recent exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, the defending flyweight Muay Thai world champion said that he isn't concerned by the dangers that Smith brings to the table after seeing what he's capable of:
"I've watched his most recent fight, and I saw he left several openings that will definitely be in my favor. I've fought him before, and I'm familiar with his style. I'm not worried."
Rodtang's confidence is one of his biggest strengths
The confidence of Rodtang Jitmuangnon is incredibly difficult to disrupt and that makes him dangerous at all times.
Whether it's in his aggressive fighting style or his self-confessed lack of training for some previous fights, his confidence is what allows him to pull through.
This is going to be a big hurdle for Jacob Smith who will need to try and earn the respect of 'The Iron Man' early on into their rematch to avoid a repeat of their first encounter where he was convincingly beaten.
They will run it back on Nov. 8 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. ONE 169 is available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
